Quite the blur–by Schylie

As I think upon the last several days, it’s hard to remember what we actually did each day. A lot of it is just a blur… So, instead of going through each day, I’m going to pick out the highlights (or at least most memorable experiences) of the last week or so.

We’ve gone swimming, played at parks, played games at home, picked cherries, ate many delicious meals, visited with family, gone shopping, helped babysit our three year old cousin Jordyn, and done many other things that have kept us busy.

Saturday was interrupted with an unfortunate event. Chantry was injured in a game of pool. One of the balls hit her pinky finger and it immediately swelled up. We took her to the ER and, after an X-ray, found out that it was a contusion. We were thankful it was not worse. She was given a splint and quickly returned to her happy self. She still wears it when it hurts at times and will save her splint as a keepsake.

On Sunday, we visited the OPC church plant in Coeur d’Alene. Here we experienced our second unfortunate event. This time it was me. I had been such for the past few days, but thought I was getting better. At church, I experienced difficulty breathing several times. By the end of the service, Mama and I had to decide whether to go to the hospital or wait. We decided to wait. I slept for a few hours upon our return home. The next morning, I was extremely lethargic and had very little energy. Mama was concerned and so we went to the ER after the walk-in clinic wouldn’t see me (they said cash could be fraudulent!). After lots of questions and an X-ray, they diagnosed me with bronchitis, but said I was at the tail end of it. I was instructed to keep taking an expectorant and rest. Since then I have been feeling better and hope to be 100% soon.

Yesterday, we spent the day with Grandpa, since he was off of work. It was a fun and late night as we stayed up playing and enjoying ourselves.

Today was our third unfortunate event. As we prepared to join our cousins, Dan and Heather, for a hike, we discovered that Sandy was not feeling well. We had to quickly decide whether to continue with our plans, or do something else. We decided to let her rest, and Mama, Terra, and I went with Dan and Heather hiking and swimming afterward. We visited with their parents, Tim & Rena, for a bit before heading to the store and then back to Grandma’s house.. We found that Sandy was feeling nearly 100% better. This evening, we had a seafood feast for dinner and then enjoyed some more time with Grandma, Grandpa, and our cousin, Teagan. Another late, but good, night.

Please continue praying for us. This morning I feel like I’ve taken a few steps backward with the bronchitis. Today will be a restful day. Love you all!

Signing off…

  1. Was sorry that we did not connect when you were near Yakima. The only email address that I had was the one that was sent when you were ready to come this way. I responded but evidently you didn’t get my reply.
We have been enjoying the trip reports so far. Praying a good and safe trip for you all.
