Girl Time!–by Schylie

The last few days have been busy but enjoyable. On Thursday, we girls went and visited Lenora, her husband Jon, and her daughter Tia. Lenora is a good friend of Mama’s from way back. We had a delicious lunch with them before kayaking  on the lake behind their house. It was wonderful!

On Friday, we went swimming with Grandpa at a lake called Buck Lake. We floated more than we swam since the water was pretty cold.

Saturday was our big day. In the morning, we visited a local farmer’s market. We bought a few things, but mostly walked through and enjoyed seeing what everyone was selling. At the farmer’s market, we met another friend of Mama’s, Louise Kohl. She and her family were very kind and helpful to our family when River and I were very young. We ate lunch with Louise and her husband, Steve, and visited for a few hours. It was great to see them again and catch up. Later that evening, Grandpa and us girls went to a local rodeo. I found the rodeo online on Friday and knew we just had to go! The tickets were dirt cheap. We spent a few hours there, got front row seats, and rooted them on till we almost lost our voices! Us girls (besides Mama) hadn’t been to a rodeo before and sure did enjoy the barrel racing, bucking broncos, and bull riding. It was amazing!

Today, we visited Keyport Bible Church in the morning. Mama saw several friends that she attended church with many long years ago. Needless to say, we were there for about 5 hours… But it was great. The sermon was a blessing and the fellowship was wonderful. We just finished some burgers and hotdogs and are ready to settle down. Today was brutally hot, 101 degrees at the highest. Wow. It’s delightfully getting cool now.

Signing off…

P.S. Despite the fact that the title to this post sounds like we’re really enjoying our girl time without the guys, please be aware that we greatly do miss them. Just wanted to clarify…
