We had a wonderful final day of travel. Waking up in Bozeman on June 2–my 45th birthday!–I went to Starbucks for my free birthday drink 🙂 and then came back to the motel lobby for a time of reading and prayer to God.
Another awesome day
We had an awesome day today. We left Gillette, WY at 10:30 this morning, after family worship, and arrived here in Bozeman, MT by 10 PM, after a long drive through God’s beautiful creation. We’re staying in the Lewis and Clark Motel and should be on our way to Thompson Falls, MT in the morning.
Up and driving!
Thank you all for your prayers! We got out of White River much sooner than expected and reached our destination in Gillette, WY by 10:30. So let me quickly bring you up to speed before we head out for today’s journey.
Broke down.Â
We broke down in the middle of nowhere-White River, South Dakota. The wheel hub assembly on the front passenger tire went out. I’m grateful to the Lord that it did not go out while driving 80 miles an hour on I-90. I began hearing the scratching sound as we approached Murdo, South Dakota. We pulled over at Murdo to gas up and then headed towards the Badlands. When it started again I pulled over at a repair shop in White River. Please pray for a quick repair. We are waiting for the part to come from a town 30 minutes away. Thank God they had it!
The town has no hotel or place to stay so we’re just walking around waiting for the part to come and then waiting for a 2 hour repair. The town has just over 500 people and one of the old-timers said you can talk on one end of the town and a person on the other end of town can hear you 🙂
It looks like we’re here for another three hours so we’re gonna walk through town to see if we can’t circle it a few times while we’re waiting.
Amazing Grace on Highland Pipes
I forgot to add the video of Ed playing the pipes for us 🙂 Thanks Ed!

Time for an update
Where do I begin!? So much has happened since my last post. We just arrived at the home of our long-time dear friends Dan and Karin Donovan in Sanborn, Iowa. We’ve had three long days and no good means of getting onto the internet since Saturday night at the Jekel’s. So let me bring you up to speed with some narrative and a few great pictures.
Our first day on the road
After a non-stop Friday of cleaning, organizing, and packing, it was a real joy when today started out right on schedule. We left the house just before 7:00, all packed up and ready for our first day on the road.
And there they go! The La Belles are on wheels :D
Schylie’s Graduation from CCCC
We were blessed yesterday to attend Schylie’s graduation from Cape Cod Community College with her AA. God be praised, she graduated with High Honors, having a GPA of 3.98. We are so very proud of her hard work through these last two years of study. She is leaving on Sept 4 to serve as a Missionary Associate with our team of missionaries in Karamoja, Uganda for one year. Please join us in praising God for this wonderful achievement and please keep her in your prayers as she seeks to serve the Lord.
Jeein’s Graduation from Gordon College
Today we had a wonderful time attending Jeein’s graduation from Gordon College. We are proud of her for working so diligently to earn a BA in Psychology and we are so very thankful to the Lord for upholding and enabling her along the way.
Jeein came into our lives on June 9, 2012 and arrived in our home on Aug 6, 2012 to begin her studies at Cape Cod Community College. We have come to love her as our own and rejoice with her parents, David and Jenny Kang, and with her brother Harry, to see what God has wrought over these last 5 years.
Here are some of the pictures from today’s ceremony and lunch afterwards. We are so thankful that her mother was able to be with her to celebrate this important day.
